Hapoel Jerusalem has exercised its option to keep central defender Tamir Heimovich for two additional years. Heimovich was one of the team’s most important players last season and will remain with the club as it builds for the next campaign.
The Jerusalem side endured a difficult 2023-24 season and secured survival in the Israeli Premier League only one round before the end. Since then, it has started preparing for next season with the aim of avoiding another relegation battle and producing steadier performances.
Heimovich made 23 league appearances this season, scored one goal, and was a key figure in the club’s defense. His new deal carries added importance after the departure of captain Ouka Asta, who left after several significant seasons at the club.
With Asta gone, Hapoel Jerusalem is trying to preserve continuity in the rest of the squad so it can arrive ready for the coming season.
