Hapoel Jerusalem announced on Thursday that it has activated the option to keep defender Tamir Haimovich for two more seasons. The club is coming off a difficult year in which it stayed in the Premier League only one round before the end of the season, and training for 2026/27 is set to begin early next week.
The team will also hold a members' association meeting this Friday to review the past campaign. Haimovich, who was named one of the pillars of the Jerusalem defense, made 23 Premier League appearances this season and scored once.
The extension is especially important after the departure of captain Ovakha Ashta. Hapoel Jerusalem said it wants to preserve continuity in the squad as it prepares for next season and tries to arrive ready.
The club also said goalkeeper Ben Gordin has been loaned out for another season. In addition, it announced its annual national LGBT football tournament, the closing sports event of Pride Month in Israel, which will take place on July 1 at Emek HaArazim.
