Hapoel Jerusalem announced on Thursday that it has exercised the contract option for defender Tamir Haimovich, keeping him at the club for two more seasons. The move was first reported by Sport 5 and was confirmed officially on the club’s Facebook page.
Haimovich was one of the team’s key players this season, making 23 Premier League appearances and scoring one goal. His extension becomes even more important after the departure of captain Ouka Eshta, as the club looks to preserve continuity in the squad after a difficult campaign.
Hapoel Jerusalem survived relegation in the Israeli Premier League only one round before the end of the season. Training for the 2026/27 campaign is set to begin early next week, and the club’s members will hold an assembly on Friday to review the past season.
The club also said goalkeeper Ben Gordin has been loaned out for another season. In addition, Hapoel Jerusalem announced its annual national LGBTQ football tournament, which will close Pride Month sports events in Israel on July 1 at Emek HaArazim.
