Maks Heidiger Joins Hapoel Tel Aviv Amid Negotiations with Bnei Herzliya

Hapoel Tel Aviv has finalized an agreement with guard Maks Heidiger, 29, ahead of the 2026/2027 basketball season. The team is currently negotiating with Heidiger's former club, Bnei Herzliya, due to a clause in his last contract that prevents him from playing for any Israeli team other than Herzliya this season. Despite this, Hapoel Tel Aviv is confident that Heidiger will be granted an exemption by the league's committee, allowing him to be registered as a regular Israeli player rather than as an immigrant player, which would avoid restrictions on his participation.

Heidiger, who stands 1.91 meters tall, began the previous season with Bnei Herzliya and was among the top Israeli players in the Premier League, averaging 15.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game. Following the "Roar of the Lion" operation, he joined Burgos, where he averaged 12.4 points per game. The resolution of the contract clause with Herzliya is ongoing as Hapoel Tel Aviv prepares for the upcoming season.
