The Israel Defense Forces said Tuesday that it carried out another shooting incident in southern Lebanon, just hours after killing Hezbollah operatives in the area. The new event took place on the Ali al-Taher ridge in the security zone, where troops identified four Hezbollah militants riding a bulldozer and a motorcycle.
According to the military, the men crossed into the security area and moved toward IDF forces in a way that posed an immediate threat. Soldiers first fired warning shots to push them back, but when they kept approaching and ignored calls to stop, the troops fired again to remove the danger. The IDF said a hit was observed.
In its statement, the army said Hezbollah operates under civilian cover to conceal its terrorist activity, calling the episode another example of the group’s cynical use of Lebanese civilians and civilian infrastructure as protection for its operations. The IDF added that it will not allow Hezbollah to harm Israeli civilians or its forces and will continue acting against immediate threats.
