R.B.E.U Import Export Ltd., the official importer of French company Floraline products, has initiated a voluntary recall of its "cereal mix for cooking" due to elevated levels of ergot alkaloids. The product is a 500g mix of durum wheat semolina and tapioca.
The recall was prompted by the manufacturer's own internal checks, which detected ergot alkaloids, natural toxins produced by fungi that can infect grain crops, exceeding permissible limits. The affected batch is identified by lot number L5071O, with a best-before date of December 31, 2028, and barcode 3177960003611. The product is manufactured by Pastacorp in France.
Consumers are strongly advised not to consume the product. To return the item and receive compensation, customers should contact the consumer support service at +972 54-357-9451.
Ergot alkaloids can pose health risks, including gastrointestinal issues like nausea and vomiting, neurological problems such as spasms, seizures, and sensory disturbances, and vascular complications due to blood vessel constriction.
