The Israeli Ministry of Health has announced a voluntary recall of Floraline brand cereal mix due to the detection of elevated levels of natural toxins. The importer, R.B.E.A. Import and Export, initiated the recall after manufacturer tests revealed a violation of the maximum permitted level of ergot alkaloids. These toxins, produced by certain fungi that can infect grains, pose significant health risks.

The affected product is a 500-gram package of cereal mix containing durum wheat semolina and tapioca. The specific batch subject to the recall is L5071O, with all hour codes, and an expiration date of December 31, 2028. The barcode for this batch is 3177960003611.

Ergot alkaloids can cause severe health issues, including nausea, vomiting, vascular spasms, and circulatory problems, as well as neurological effects like convulsions. While not everyone who consumes the product will experience symptoms, the risk depends on the amount ingested, duration of exposure, and individual health status.

Consumers who purchased the affected cereal mix are strongly advised not to consume it. They should check the batch number and expiration date on their packaging. If the product matches the recalled batch, it should be returned. The company is working with the Ministry of Health to immediately remove the products from store shelves.
