Popular French Cereal Mix Recalled in Israel Over Toxin Fears

A popular imported food product from France has been urgently recalled from the Israeli market due to safety concerns. The official distributor, R.B.E.A. Import and Export, in conjunction with the Ministry of Health's food service, announced the recall after dangerous levels of natural fungal toxins were detected in a specific batch.

The product affected is Floraline brand "cereal mix for cooking," made by Pastacorp in France. The recall specifically targets a 500-gram package containing durum wheat semolina and tapioca, with batch number L5071O, barcode 3177960003611, and an expiration date of December 31, 2028.

Laboratory tests conducted by the manufacturer revealed that the batch exceeded regulatory limits for ergot alkaloids, which are poisonous substances produced by fungi that infect grain crops. Health officials warn that consuming products with these toxins can cause severe health issues, including digestive problems like nausea and vomiting, neurological disorders such as spasms and seizures, and vascular pathologies leading to severe blood vessel constriction.
