Flourine Cereal Mix Recalled Over Toxin Fears
The Ministry of Health announced a recall of the "Flourine" brand "Cereal Mix for Cooking" (durum wheat semolina and tapioca) due to the presence of natural toxins. The importer, R.B.C.A. Import and Export, is asking consumers to return the product, specifically the 500-gram package with batch number L5071O and an expiration date of December 31, 2028.
The recall was initiated after a manufacturer's test revealed an exceedance of the regulatory threshold for natural toxins known as ergot alkaloids. The Ministry of Health warned that consuming these toxins can lead to gastrointestinal issues such as nausea and vomiting, neurological problems including convulsions and seizures, and damage to blood vessels.
Consumers are urged not to consume the product and to return it for a refund. The company has provided a customer service number for inquiries and reimbursement.
