The Democrats Party has filed a petition with the High Court of Justice demanding that the head of the Shin Bet, David Zini, and the government be compelled to provide security for party chairman Yair Golan. The party stated that Golan remains without security despite the police classifying the threat level against him as high. "Yair Golan is exposed to dozens of concrete, explicit, and chilling assassination threats, and every day that passes without security leaves the petitioner as cannon fodder," the party declared.
The Democrats also revealed that the petition includes a document detailing the specific threats directed at Golan. In addition to Golan, Gadi Eisenkot, chairman of the Yisrael Beiteinu party, is also reportedly without security coverage.
