Yair Golan Demands Shin Bet Security Detail, Citing Gadi Eisenkot

Yair Golan, leader of the Democraticim party, has formally requested personal security from the head of the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency), David Zini. Golan's demand stems from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's decision to provide security to former IDF Chief of Staff and current Knesset member Gadi Eisenkot. Golan argues that both he and Eisenkot have been assessed by the Israel Police as facing the same level of threat, and therefore, the security measures should be identical. He praised the decision to protect Eisenkot, calling it "correct and necessary" and emphasizing that Eisenkot's safety is not a political issue. Golan expects Zini to make a "professional, objective, and immediate decision, without extraneous considerations." He has stated that if his request for personal security is denied, he will petition the High Court of Justice (Bagatz).
