Explosion in Holon Injures Teenager; Police Suspect Gang Dispute

A powerful explosion rocked the city of Holon on Sanhedrin Street in the Jessy Cohen neighborhood during daylight hours on Tuesday. A 15-year-old boy sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Wolfson Medical Center. Large police forces, including detectives and operatives, arrived at the scene from Tel Aviv to collect evidence, interview witnesses, and search the surrounding area for suspects. Bomb disposal experts were examining the blast site. The commander of the Tel Aviv District Police, Major General Haim Sharagoff, assessed the situation, and the investigation has been assigned to the Tel Aviv Criminal Investigations Department.

Investigators are treating the incident as a result of a gang dispute rather than a terrorist attack. Preliminary findings suggest the intended target may have been a member of the Musli crime family, with the injured teenager being an innocent bystander. The explosive device was powerful enough to injure the youth who was reportedly in the vicinity by chance. Police are continuing their investigation and searching for those responsible, while working to determine the exact circumstances and mechanism of the explosion.

In a separate incident in Beersheba, police prevented a similar criminal act. Officers from the Iron police station discovered two improvised explosive devices near a residential building. A bomb disposal unit was called to the scene, successfully neutralizing the devices and mitigating any potential risk.
