Israel Revokes Dutch Diplomats' Status in Ramallah Over Product Boycott
In response to the Dutch government's decision to boycott products from Judea and Samaria, East Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights, Israel has revoked the diplomatic status of Dutch representatives operating in Ramallah. Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar informed the Dutch embassy that these diplomats must return their Israeli accreditation cards within seven days. Following this deadline, all diplomatic immunities and rights previously granted by Israel to these Dutch representatives will expire.
Israel's Foreign Ministry clarified to the Netherlands that if it wishes to continue representing its interests with the Palestinians, it should do so directly from the Palestinian Authority's territory, not through Israeli territory. This move follows a similar decision last month where the Dutch representation was removed from an international support center for Gaza that operated out of Kiryat Gat.
Jerusalem issued a strong message stating, "Israel will not ignore actions intended to harm it. Any country that acts against us in a hostile and unilateral manner will lose its influence and relevance in the region." Additionally, the Foreign Ministry criticized the Dutch government's perceived inaction against rising antisemitism within its borders, accusing the Netherlands' anti-Israel policies of fueling this incitement.
