Dozens of Israelis Stranded in Nepal Himalayas by Extreme Weather

Dozens of Israeli travelers are stranded in the remote Himalayan village of Samagaon, Nepal, after extreme weather and rockfalls blocked access routes. The group, situated at an altitude of approximately 3,500 meters in the Manaslu region, reported multiple rockslides near their accommodations overnight. Travel from the village is severely hampered due to the lack of electricity and difficult terrain, with one Israeli describing the situation as feeling like "the whole earth is collapsing" every few hours due to loud noises from the landslides.

Roads and bridges in the area have been damaged and are impassable in places, significantly limiting ground-based evacuation options. Insurance companies and local travel agencies are involved in rescue efforts, but a full evacuation has not yet been possible. The situation was exacerbated by heavy rains, which caused a large landslide above Samagaon early Tuesday, waking residents. No injuries were reported within the village itself.
