Israeli Election Committee Approves Party Lists and Ballot Letters for 2026 Vote

The Central Elections Committee for the Knesset has approved the list of 38 candidate slates and their designated identification letters for the upcoming 2026 Knesset elections. The decision was made following a discussion and vote by the full committee, chaired by Judge Noam Sohlberg. The approved letters and party names include "RAK" for Naftali Bennett's "Beitenu" (Together), "DERECH" for Gadi Eisenkot's "Derech" (Way), "TZEDEK" for "Tzedek" (Justice), "DALET" for "Ha'shutuafut La'kol" (Partnership for All), and "LAMED" for Avigdor Lieberman's "Yisrael Beiteinu" (Israel Our Home).

Other approved designations include "KAH" for "Kol HaNashim" (Voice of Women), "DALET" for "Beitenu Nitzliach" (Together We Succeed), "LAMED" for "Yisrael Beiteinu," "KITZ" for "Mishpat Tzedek" (Justice Law), "NAF" for "Shema," "BET" for Itamar Ben-Gvir's "Otzma Yehudit" (Jewish Power), "KAF-HET" for "Hevrat Hadashah Le'kinun Hokah" (New Order for Constitution), "DALET" for "Ha'miluimnikim Ve'ha'kalkalit" (Reservists and Economic), "EMET" for Yair Golan's "Ha'demokratim" (The Democrats), and "ALEF" for Ra'am (United Arab List).

Notable parties also received their letters, such as "MEM" for the Sephardic Haredi party Shas, "ZAK" for "Ha' ציבור Ha'haredi" (The Haredi Public), "PEH" for "Ani Ve'ata" (Me and You), "ZAYIN-TZADI" for "Brit Olam" (World Covenant), "NUN-YOD-KAF" for "Ha'tikun" (The Correction), "YOD-KAF-HET" for "Gush Ha'Tanachi" (Biblical Bloc), "ZAYIN" for "Bitachon" (Security), "BET-KAF-RESH" for "Orot Ha'shachar" (Lights of Dawn), "NUN-ZAYIN-RESH" for "Bitachon Ishi" (Personal Security), "NUN-RESH" for "Tzavah Shahor" (Black Color), "MEM-HET-LAMED" for Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud, "KAF-YOD-NUN" for Benny Gantz's "Kahol Lavan" (Blue and White), "TET" for Bezalel Smotrich's "Ha'tsiyonut Ha'datit" (Religious Zionism) and Moshe Feiglin's "Zehut" (Identity), "TZADI-VAV" for "Tnuat Achai" (My Brother Movement), "BET-YOD" for "Tzomet Beit Yisrael" (Beit Yisrael Junction), "KAF" for "Ha'listah Ha'meshutefet" (The Joint List), "RAVEZ" for "Ha'kahal" (The Congregation), "GIMEL" for "Yahadut Ha'Torah" (United Torah Judaism), and "NUN-YOD" for Avi Maoz's "Noam."

A dispute arose over the letter "BET," which was initially sought by Naftali Bennett's party but ultimately awarded to Itamar Ben-Gvir's Otzma Yehudit, which had also used it in municipal elections. The committee ruled in favor of Otzma Yehudit for national use. The 2026 elections are scheduled for October 27th, marking the first time in 53 years that a government will complete its full term and the first time in 38 years that elections will be held on their scheduled date.
