Israel's Election Commission Approves Party Designations for Knesset Vote

Israel's Central Election Committee has approved the letter designations for parties participating in the upcoming 26th Knesset elections, scheduled for October 27. A total of 38 lists had previously submitted their candidacies.

This election cycle introduces a new rule allowing new parties to use up to three letters on ballots, an increase from the previous limit of one or two. Several parties have been assigned their designations, including 'Yashar' (דרך), 'Likud' (מחל), 'Behad' (רק), 'Democrats' (אמת), 'Our Home Israel' (ל), 'Otzma Yehudit' (ב), Shas (שס), 'Yahadut HaTorah' (ג), 'Zionut Datit veZeut' (ט), the United List (ודם), Ra'am (עם), 'Amcha Israel' (ך), 'Reservists and Economic' (די), 'Kachol Lavan' (כן), 'Noam LeIsrael' (ני), 'Israel Tfila' (י), 'HaCharedi Public' (זך), 'Betach - Social Security' (ז), 'Behad Nachliah - United Arab-Jewish List' (בד), 'Kol HaNashim' (קה), 'Sharshur - For Love and Unity of the People' (צדק), 'Partnership for All' (ד), 'Piratim Tzafim Letov' (צף), 'Gan Eden' (ה), 'Mishpat Tzedek' (קץ), 'Shma' (נף), 'Hadash Order' (קך), 'Ani Veata - People's Party of Israel' (פה), 'Brit Olam for the Redemption of Israel' (זץ), 'The Reform for the Electoral and Governance System' (נקי), GAHAT (יק), 'Orot HaShachar - Party of All' (בקר), 'Personal Security' (נץ), 'Black Flag - Shield of the World of Torah' (נר), 'Achi Movement' (צבי), 'Tzomet - Beit Israel' (בי), 'Tkuma' (ק), and 'Blue Party - General Haredi Party' (רץ).

The participation of Ra'am and the United List is currently conditional, as the Central Election Committee voted to disqualify them. This decision is pending review by the Supreme Court.
