Israel Gymnastics Team Wins World Championship Gold in Acrobatic Event

The Israeli national acrobatic gymnastics team secured the team gold medal at the World Championships for adults, held in Pesaro, Italy. The team finished first with 88 points, ahead of Russia and the United States, who each scored 81 points. The winning Israeli score was achieved through the combined efforts of three pairs and groups.

Key performances included the girls' pair Shiraz Sokolovsky and Roni Cohen, the boys' quartet Liad Madar, Eran Rodnai, Liran Cohen, and Yevgeny Pinchukov, and the girls' trio Ori Dekel, Roni Rotman, and Arad Avir Deutsch. These athletes, representing clubs like 'Offei Haifa', 'Maccabi Acrogym', and 'Begin Holon', were coached by Yanai Kalfa, Lider Dana, and Ofir Cohen.

Beyond the team gold, the Israeli delegation had a strong showing in the preliminary rounds, with multiple athletes qualifying for various finals. Sokolovsky and Cohen qualified for the Balance and Dynamic finals, placing second in both. Madar, Rodnai, Cohen, and Pinchukov advanced to the combined final after placing second in Balance and fourth in Dynamic. Dekel, Rotman, and Deutsch qualified for the Dynamic final and the combined final, though they were limited from the Balance final due to a one-team-per-country rule.

Other Israeli pairs also achieved notable results. Rotem Wolf and Yotam Klumel qualified for the Dynamic final and the combined final, serving as first reserves for the Balance final. Noam Ronen, Noa Yifrah, and Mari Ovadia qualified for the Balance final and were third in the combined preliminary round but did not advance to the final due to the country limitation. Ronnie Taler and Chen Benuz competed in the Balance and combined events.

Avi Sagie, Chairman of the Israeli Gymnastics Association, congratulated the team, calling the gold medal a significant achievement that reflects the dedicated work of the clubs and coaches. He expressed pride in the athletes and wished them luck in the upcoming finals.
