Israel Wins Gymnastics World Championship Gold in Italy

The Israeli national acrobatic gymnastics team secured the gold medal in the senior team competition at the World Championships held in Pesaro, Italy. The Israeli squad accumulated 88 points, surpassing Russia and the United States, who each finished with 81 points.

The winning point total was achieved through the combined efforts of three teams: the women's pair Shiraz Sokolovsky and Roni Cohen, the men's quartet Liyad Madar, Eran Rodnai, Liran Cohen, and Yevgeny Pintchouk, and the women's trio Uri Dekel, Roni Rotman, and Arad Avir Deutsch.

In addition to the team gold, the Israeli delegation qualified for numerous finals. Sokolovsky and Cohen advanced to the finals in both the Dynamic and Balance events, finishing second in qualifications for both, and also topped the all-around qualifications. Madar, Rodnai, Cohen, and Pintchouk qualified for the Dynamic and Balance finals, placing second in both, and also reached the all-around final. Dekel, Rotman, and Deutsch qualified for the Dynamic and all-around finals but did not advance to the Balance final due to a one-team-per-country limit.

Other Israeli pairs also achieved success. Rotem Wolf and Yotam Kalomel qualified for the Dynamic and all-around finals, serving as first reserves for the Balance final. Noam Ronen, Noa Yifrah, and Mari Obadia qualified for the Balance and all-around finals, but did not advance to the combined final due to the one-team-per-country rule. Roni Taler and Chen Benuz qualified for the all-around final.

Avi Sagie, Chairman of the Israeli Gymnastics Federation, congratulated the team, stating, "What an exciting way to open the Sukkot holiday, with the Israeli flag at the top of the podium at the World Championships. The gold in the team competition is an achievement of the entire delegation and a strong sport, reflecting the professional and dedicated work done daily in our clubs.
