Israel Wins Two Gold Medals at Youth Gymnastics World Championships

Israel has secured two gold medals at the Youth World Championships for Acrobatic Gymnastics, held in Pesaro, Italy. The Israeli delegation achieved top honors on Sunday, the first day of the finals.

The girls' trio, consisting of Michelle Obolentsev, Tsuf Ashur, and Shahar Vardi from Begin Holon, clinched the gold medal in the combined exercise final with a score of 27.780 points. Another gold was awarded to the girls' pair, Abigail Montasez and Lika Bazilansky from Maccabi Dan and Hapoel Misgav, who also won the combined exercise final with a score of 28.030 points. Both teams were coached by Maya Ganot and Mika Levkovich.

Additional strong performances included the boys' quartet, comprising Shai Habbush, Yair Oz, Yonatan Weitzman, and Yonatan Shachner from Meofefei Haifa, who finished in fourth place with 27.200 points. They tied for third place, with the tiebreaker deciding the final standings. The mixed pair, Tali Brodsky and Oren Bar Yosef from Meofefei Haifa, finished eighth in the final, coached by Ofir Cohen and Kerem Gershgoren.

Avi Sagie, Chairman of the Israeli Gymnastics Federation, expressed his excitement, stating, "A thrilling start to the finals day with two gold medals and excellent performances by our male and female gymnasts.
