Israel Wins Two Gold Medals at Youth Gymnastics World Championships

Israel has secured two gold medals at the Youth Gymnastics World Championships held in Pesaro, Italy. The Israeli delegation achieved a significant success on Sunday, the opening day of the finals, by topping the podium twice.

The girls' trio, consisting of Michelle Obolentsev, Tsuf Ashur, and Shahar Vardi from HULON, clinched the gold in the combined exercise final with a score of 27.780 points. Following this, the girls' pair, Abigail Montasez and Lika Bazilansky from MACCABI DAN and HAPOEL MISHGAV, also won first place in their combined exercise final, earning 28.030 points. The coaching staff for these winning teams included Maya Ganot and Mika Levkovich.

Further strong performances were noted in the finals. The boys' quartet, comprising Shai Habbush, Yair Oz, Yonatan Weitzman, and Yonatan Shachner from ME'UFEFEI HAIFA, finished in fourth place with 27.200 points, narrowly missing third place which was decided by a tiebreaker. The mixed pair, Tali Brodsky and Oren Bar Yosef, also from ME'UFEFEI HAIFA, concluded their competition in eighth place in the final.

Avi Sagie, Chairman of the Israeli Gymnastics Federation, expressed his excitement, stating, "An exciting start to the finals day with two gold medals and excellent performances from our male and female gymnasts.
