However, "The Mirror" inquired with UEFA, which confirmed that Abu Farchi received a yellow card for unsportsmanlike behavior. Despite UEFA's explanation, the celebration drew criticism, particularly from Irish media, who used the incident to attack Israel. Conversely, some online commentators defended Abu Farchi, an Arab Muslim Israeli, asserting his celebration consistently mimics a pool cue and accusing critics, especially in Ireland, of intentionally misrepresenting the act to demonize Israel.
