Netanyahu Proudly Defends Israel's Stance on Global Stage

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed pride in advocating for Israel's position worldwide following his participation in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Netanyahu, accompanied by his wife Sara and a delegation, departed the United States for Israel on Friday, September 25th, after a visit lasting less than a day, one of his shortest political trips. The central focus of his visit was his address at the UN, where he addressed critical security and regional policy issues, including the ongoing conflict with Iran and its allies, the events of October 7th, and the military operations in Gaza. During his speech, Netanyahu also sharply criticized Turkey, Qatar, and the Mayor of New York, Eric Adams.

Prior to his UN address, the Israeli Prime Minister held diplomatic meetings with the Prime Ministers of Greece and Slovenia. His speech at the General Assembly generated significant attention and received official backing from members of his governing coalition. Foreign Minister G Gideon Saar described the speech as a warning and stated that Netanyahu presented Israel's perspective amid international criticism. Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir highlighted the importance of the statement, emphasizing Israeli societal solidarity. Aryeh Deri, Chairman of the Shas party, also congratulated the Prime Minister on a strong address, noting that in the face of external pressure and antisemitism, the truth of the Israeli people and words of defense for IDF soldiers were spoken.
