Israeli Officials Praise Netanyahu's UN Address, Use It for Election Campaigning

Following Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech at the United Nations General Assembly, Israeli political figures offered their reactions, largely praising the address while some leveraged the event for election campaigning. Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar described Netanyahu's speech as "brilliant," stating it presented "our truth, Israel's truth, in the house of lies of the UN." Sa'ar added that the Israeli Prime Minister "must be equipped with the abilities and skills to fight for Israel's interests and be a player on the international stage," asserting that candidates seeking to replace Netanyahu lack these capabilities.

Justice Minister Yariv Levin also congratulated Prime Minister Netanyahu on his "excellent speech" at the UN General Assembly. Levin contrasted Netanyahu's presentation of "simple truth" with what he termed a "parade of folly by heads of state who surrender time and again to radical Islam." He emphasized that the events at the UN underscore the necessity for Netanyahu to continue leading Israel with determination, defending its rights and security, rather than having a "submissive left-wing government dependent on the votes of anti-Zionist parties."
