Israeli Ministers Praise Netanyahu's UN Speech, Use It for Election Campaign

Following Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's address at the UN General Assembly, Israeli political figures largely lauded his speech, with some leveraging the event for election campaign purposes. Foreign Minister Gidon Saar described Netanyahu's speech as "brilliant," stating it "presented our truth, Israel's truth, in the house of lies of the UN." Saar added that only Netanyahu possesses the necessary skills to advocate for Israel internationally, contrasting him with potential rivals in upcoming elections.

Defense Minister Yisrael Katz also praised Netanyahu's "powerful" speech, asserting that the Prime Minister "represented the State of Israel in the best way possible, with pride, head held high, and without fear of antisemitism, hypocrisy, and our enemies." Katz emphasized Netanyahu's clear message against compromising security and future interests, pledging continued defense of Israel and its citizens.

Justice Minister Yariv Levin commended Netanyahu's "excellent" speech, positioning him as a resolute leader against "extreme Islam" and contrasting him with leaders who "surrender time and again." Levin stressed the necessity of Netanyahu continuing to lead Israel with determination, advocating for its rights and security, as opposed to a "submissive left-wing government dependent on anti-Zionist parties."

Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon stated that Netanyahu "put the truth on the table" amidst what he called a "flood of lies." Danon affirmed that Israel would not apologize for defending its citizens and would not be deterred by those attempting to portray aggressors as victims and vice versa. He also noted the Iranian delegation leaving a picture of Qasem Soleimani on the table, remarking that "pictures are about all that's left for them of their senior generals."
