Netanyahu at UN: Israel Will Prevail Against Iran, Hamas

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a speech at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, focusing heavily on Iran's nuclear ambitions and its support for regional terror groups. Addressing the assembly, Netanyahu invoked the eve of the Six-Day War, drawing parallels between the past existential threat and the current situation with Iran. He stated that Israel had successfully prevented Iran from developing nuclear weapons, a threat to Israel and the world, and asserted that Israel's victory was inevitable, "because we have no other choice."

Netanyahu sharply criticized what he termed "moral cowards" and hypocritical nations that accuse Israel of occupation, while ignoring Palestinian violence. He recounted a conversation with his brother Yoni before the Six-Day War, who expressed certainty of victory due to the lack of alternatives. The Prime Minister then addressed the October 7th Hamas massacre, comparing the scale of the attack to 9/11 and highlighting Israel's subsequent military successes on multiple fronts against Iran, Hamas, and Hezbollah. To illustrate his point about Hezbollah's memory, he held up an old pager.

He also touched upon the campaign against Israeli settlers, dismissing it as isolated incidents, and contrasted it with the thousands of Palestinians seeking to harm Jews. Netanyahu thanked former President Trump for his support, emphasizing Trump's understanding of the threat posed by Iran's "Death to America" rhetoric. He declared that Israel is fighting for a shared future and praised the Israeli Defense Forces as the "most moral army in the world."

Netanyahu criticized Qatar and Turkey for their alleged roles in anti-Israel campaigns and for their representatives walking out before his speech. He challenged the notion of a "genocide" in Gaza, questioning how a regime committing genocide would allow tons of aid per person into the territory. He concluded by addressing Jews worldwide, urging them to "raise your heads," and assured Iranian citizens that they would eventually see freedom, while reiterating that any entity attempting to destroy Israel would fail.
