Yosef Haim Ben-David, Convicted in Muhammad Abu Khdeir Murder, Dies at 42
Yosef Haim Ben-David, who was convicted of the 2014 murder of Palestinian teenager Muhammad Abu Khdeir, died on Thursday at the age of 42. Ben-David was transferred from prison to a hospital after suffering a cardiac event. He had been sentenced to life imprisonment plus an additional 20 years for his role in the crime.
Two minors from Beit Shemesh, one of whom was Ben-David's nephew, were also convicted of participating in the murder and received life sentences plus 21 years. Abu Khdeir was killed in 2014 in an act of revenge following the kidnapping and murder of three Israeli teenagers: Eyal Yifrah, Gil-ad Shaer, and Naftali Fraenkel.
Abu Khdeir's body was found in the Jerusalem Forest. Following an investigation by the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency), the three perpetrators were apprehended.
