Three Border Police Officers Investigated for Alleged Car Theft
The Police Investigations Department (PID) announced Thursday that three Border Police officers were questioned under caution regarding suspicions of car theft, unauthorized use of a vehicle, and abuse of authority. The alleged incident occurred during a patrol in the Jerusalem periphery, where the officers reportedly spotted a parked car with keys inside.
According to the suspicions, the officers took the vehicle without legal authorization and drove it, causing damage to nearby cars before abandoning it without reporting the incident to their superiors. The stolen vehicle has not yet been recovered.
Following their questioning, the three officers were released on the condition that they stay away from police facilities for 15 days. The investigation, being conducted by the PID's Jerusalem team, is ongoing.
