Border Police Officers Under Investigation for Alleged Vehicle Theft

Three Border Police officers were questioned under caution by the Police Investigations Department (PID) on suspicion of vehicle theft, unauthorized use of a vehicle, and abuse of authority. The officers were reportedly on patrol in the Jerusalem envelope area when they noticed a parked car with keys inside. Without legal authorization, the officers allegedly took the vehicle, causing damage to nearby cars, before abandoning it without reporting the incident to their superiors. The stolen vehicle has not yet been recovered.

Following their questioning, the three officers were released on condition that they stay away from police facilities for 15 days. The PID stated that the investigation is ongoing and is being handled by the PID's Jerusalem team.
