IDF and Shin Bet Eliminate Hamas Finance Chief in Khan Younis
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet security agency announced on Tuesday the elimination of Muhammad Abu Alwan, identified as Hamas's finance department head, during an operation in Khan Younis.
Abu Alwan was reportedly responsible for transferring over 1 billion shekels (approximately $270 million) to fund Hamas's activities since the start of the war. He is described as a central figure in maintaining the organization's governance and operational capabilities.
In recent times, Abu Alwan had been working to restore Hamas's capabilities, allegedly in systematic violation of the ceasefire agreement. The IDF and Shin Bet stated their continued efforts to dismantle Hamas's financial infrastructure and prevent the rebuilding of its military assets.
