IDF and Shin Bet Eliminate Hamas Finance Chief in Khan Younis
The Israeli military and Shin Bet announced Wednesday the elimination of Muhammad Abu Alwan, identified as Hamas's finance department manager, in the Khan Younis area. Abu Alwan was reportedly working to restore the terror group's capabilities, systematically violating the ceasefire agreement, and was targeted to neutralize the threat he posed.
Abu Alwan began his involvement with Hamas about a decade ago and was responsible for budgeting the organization's various departments. During the recent conflict, over one billion shekels were transferred under his direction to fund terror activities, making him a crucial figure in maintaining the group's governance and survival. The IDF and Shin Bet stated their continued efforts to disrupt Hamas's funding mechanisms and prevent the rebuilding of its infrastructure.
As part of these efforts, security forces are targeting terrorists and networks of money changers and facilitators involved in hundreds of millions of dollars in financial transfers. Southern Command forces remain deployed in the area according to the agreement and will continue to operate against immediate threats.
