IDF Confirms Eliminating Senior Hamas Finance Official
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet security agency announced Thursday morning that they had eliminated a senior Hamas official responsible for the organization's finances. The individual, identified as Muhammad Abu Alwan, was killed in strikes carried out in Khan Younis on Wednesday.
According to the joint statement, Abu Alwan had recently been working to restore Hamas's capabilities, systematically violating the ceasefire agreement. The IDF and Shin Bet stated that his elimination was necessary to neutralize the threat he posed.
The operation targeted Abu Alwan as part of ongoing efforts to degrade Hamas's operational capacity following the October 7th attacks.
