Netanyahu's UN Visit Cut to 7 Hours Amid Security Concerns and Mayor's Tirade

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's upcoming trip to New York for the UN General Assembly has been drastically shortened to just seven hours due to concrete security warnings, according to reports. Senior security officials strongly advised the Prime Minister to minimize his stay in the United States following specific threats presented to him regarding the journey. Under the revised plan, Netanyahu's plane will land in New Jersey, and he will proceed directly to UN headquarters in New York before immediately returning to Israel.

The brief visit is occurring amidst a public confrontation between Netanyahu and New York City Mayor Eric Adams. In a CNN interview, Adams was asked if he regretted a past statement about enforcing an international arrest warrant against Netanyahu from the International Criminal Court (ICC). Adams responded, "Regarding Benjamin Netanyahu, I described him as I believe him to be: a war criminal and the architect of a terrible genocide of the Palestinian people." However, Adams acknowledged that the New York City government lacks the legal authority to execute such an arrest warrant.

In response to Adams' remarks, Netanyahu sharply criticized the mayor, stating, "Shame on you for supporting the Hamas terrorist monsters who slaughtered our people. Shame on you for inciting riots against the Jews of New York." The Prime Minister affirmed his intention to attend the UN to "tell the truth about our heroic soldiers, and I am going to tell the truth about you."
