Israel Eliminates Hamas Finance Chief in Khan Younis Strike
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet security agency announced Wednesday the successful elimination of Muhammad Abu Alwan, identified as the head of Hamas's finance department, in an operation in Khan Younis.
The strike was confirmed in a joint statement released by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz. "The IDF, a short while ago in Khan Younis, eliminated Muhammad Abu Alwan, the head of the finance department of the terrorist organization Hamas," the statement read.
Netanyahu and Katz commended the IDF and Shin Bet for their "precise operation and aggressive activity to thwart our enemies." They emphasized that Israel's actions continue to target the terrorist organization's funding sources. "We continue to pursue Hamas commanders and operatives, to strike its funding sources, and to destroy its terror infrastructure," they stated.
The Prime Minister and Defense Minister further declared, "We will not allow Hamas to rebuild its strength and will not stop until Hamas is no more in Gaza."
