IDF Eliminates Hamas Finance Department Head in Khan Younis

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Wednesday the elimination of Muhammad Abu Alwan, identified as the head of Hamas's finance department, during an operation in Khan Younis.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a joint statement praising the IDF and the Shin Bet for the precise operation. They affirmed Israel's commitment to dismantling Hamas, stating, "We will not allow Hamas to rebuild its strength and will not stop until Hamas is no longer in Gaza."

The statement further emphasized the ongoing efforts to pursue Hamas commanders and operatives, disrupt the organization's funding sources, and destroy its terror infrastructure. Netanyahu and Katz lauded the forces involved for their "aggressive activity to thwart our enemies."
