Israel Strikes Hamas Finance Chief in Khan Younis, Vows Continued Pursuit

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that the Israeli military targeted and killed Mohammed Abu Alwan in Khan Younis. They described Abu Alwan as the head of Hamas's financial affairs department. The operation, which occurred "a short time ago," was praised by Netanyahu and Katz in a joint statement.

In their statement, the leaders commended the Israeli army and the Shin Bet security agency for carrying out the operation. They asserted that Israel is continuing to pursue Hamas leaders and operatives, targeting the movement's funding sources, and dismantling its infrastructure. Netanyahu and Katz declared that Israel will not permit Hamas to rebuild its capabilities and that operations will persist until Hamas ceases to exist in Gaza.
