Israeli Legal Advisors May Bar Arab Party Leader from Knesset
Israel's Attorney General Amit Eisenman and the government's legal advisor Gali Baharav-Miara have responded to a petition seeking to disqualify Sami Abu Shehadeh, head of the Arab nationalist Balad party, from running in the upcoming 26th Knesset elections. In their joint response, they stated that evidence, particularly an article published by Abu Shehadeh on October 8, 2023, appears to show his support for armed struggle by a terrorist organization against Israel.
