Infant Dies in Jerusalem Hospital After Not Waking From Sleep

A three-month-old infant was rushed to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem after failing to wake up from sleep on Sunday morning. Emergency services were called to a home on Ohr Simcha Street in Beit Shemesh following reports that the baby had lost consciousness. Rescuers performed CPR on the infant, continuing resuscitation efforts during transport to the hospital, where the baby's condition was initially described as critical. Doctors at the hospital ultimately pronounced the infant dead. ZAKA, a volunteer emergency response organization, stated that their involvement facilitated the release of the infant for burial without the need for an autopsy by the forensic institute. ZAKA officials from Beit Shemesh accompanied the family and liaised with relevant authorities. The funeral was scheduled for 1:00 PM at the Derech HaChaim cemetery in Beit Shemesh. First responders from the United Hatzalah organization reported that the infant's family stated the baby had not woken up from sleep, and that CPR was administered before the critical transfer to the hospital.
