Infant Hospitalized in Critical Condition After Not Waking From Sleep

A three-month-old baby from Beit Shemesh was rushed to the hospital in critical condition after failing to wake up from his sleep. Emergency medical teams were dispatched to Or Sameach Street in the city's Haredi neighborhood following a report from the infant's family that he was unconscious.

Paramedics from the "Koach Hatlaya" unit of United Hatzalah, Moshe Schechter and brothers Asher and Yaakov Yungreis, arrived at the scene and began administering initial medical treatment. "His family told us the infant did not wake from his sleep," the paramedics stated. "We performed resuscitation efforts, and he was evacuated for further medical treatment at the hospital with his condition defined as critical."

Volunteers from 'Tzvat Hatlaya' Israel Cohen and Yitzchak Zalmanov added, "When we arrived, we were handed a three-month-old baby with no pulse and no breathing, who according to his family had not woken from his sleep. Together with additional paramedics and EMTs from Magen David Adom, we performed advanced resuscitation efforts, including chest compressions and artificial respiration. He was evacuated by an MDA intensive care ambulance in critical condition, while resuscitation efforts continued, to the trauma room at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem."
