Infant Hospitalized in Critical Condition After Failing to Wake

Translated & summarized from 0404 by baba
The story · English

A three-month-old baby was rushed to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem early this morning in critical condition after not waking up from sleep at his home in the Kiryat Ha'ir Haredi neighborhood of Beit Shemesh. MDA and "Zevet Hatzala" paramedics responded to the scene and found the infant without a pulse or breathing. They immediately began advanced resuscitation efforts, including chest compressions and artificial respiration.

"When we arrived, we were handed a three-month-old baby, without a pulse and without breathing, after his family said he did not wake from his sleep," recounted "Zevet Hatzala" volunteers Yisrael Cohen and Yitzchak Zalmanov. "Together with other MDA paramedics and EMTs, we performed advanced resuscitation efforts on him, including chest compressions and artificial respiration. He was evacuated by an MDA intensive care ambulance in critical condition, while resuscitation efforts continued, for further treatment in the trauma room at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem."
