Thousands Mourn Rabbi Mordechai Auerbach in Tel Aviv Funeral

Thousands of people, including prominent rabbis, rebbes, and yeshiva deans, gathered in Tel Aviv on Saturday night to mourn the passing of Rabbi Mordechai Auerbach, the spiritual leader of the 'Abir Yaakov' community. Rabbi Auerbach, who passed away at the end of Shabbat, was eulogized as a beacon of Torah study, Hasidism, and outreach in the heart of the city for decades.

The funeral procession began at his Beit Midrash on Elifelet Street, a location that served as a center for religious life. The large turnout led to the closure of Elifelet Street and surrounding roads as mourners traveled from across the country to pay their respects.

Leading the procession were numerous rabbis and rebbes, accompanied by hundreds of his students and admirers. Family members delivered emotional eulogies, with his brother, Rabbi Azriel Auerbach, speaking movingly about the profound loss to the Torah world and their family.

Following the services in Tel Aviv, the procession continued to Jerusalem, where Rabbi Auerbach was laid to rest at the Shomrei Ha'Mitzvot cemetery. The large crowds accompanied the hearse, expressing their grief.
