Two IDF Soldiers Lightly Injured in Southern Lebanon After Hezbollah Bombing

Two Israeli soldiers sustained light injuries in southern Lebanon on Saturday when an engineering vehicle struck an explosive device planted by Hezbollah operatives. The soldiers were evacuated for medical treatment, and their families were notified, according to the IDF Spokesperson.

In response to the incident, the IDF attacked Hezbollah infrastructure in the area. The strikes targeted observation posts and facilities used by Hezbollah terrorists to advance and carry out attacks against IDF forces. The IDF stated that its forces remain deployed in southern Lebanon according to the agreement and will continue to operate to neutralize threats to Israeli civilians and soldiers.

"The IDF is currently acting and will continue to act forcefully against the repeated attempts by the Hezbollah terrorist organization to harm our forces," the IDF spokesperson's statement read. This incident follows a series of operations conducted by the IDF in southern Lebanon in recent months. Days prior, forces discovered and destroyed rocket launchers containing 32 rockets aimed at Israel, left in the area before a ceasefire agreement.

In recent weeks, soldiers from the Maglan and Yahalom units completed an extensive operation in the Al-Tahir mountain range in southern Lebanon, operating for three months to locate and destroy Hezbollah infrastructure. During this operation, the central command complex of Hezbollah's Badr unit was uncovered, including kilometers of underground tunnels with command centers, communication and intelligence equipment, ventilation systems, kitchens, and medical rooms.

Additionally, as is customary annually, the IDF is increasing its readiness for Yom Kippur, with heightened alert levels across all fronts, particularly along the borders with Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria, as well as in Judea and Samaria.
