Two IDF Soldiers Lightly Injured in Southern Lebanon Explosive Device Attack

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported on Saturday that two soldiers were lightly injured when an engineering vehicle struck an explosive device planted by Hezbollah in the security zone in southern Lebanon. The injured soldiers were evacuated for medical treatment, and their families have been notified.

In response to the attack, the IDF conducted retaliatory strikes against Hezbollah infrastructure in several areas of southern Lebanon. According to the military, the targeted sites included observation posts and terror infrastructure used by Hezbollah operatives to advance and execute attacks against Israeli forces.

The IDF stated that its forces remain deployed in the southern Lebanese security zone in accordance with agreements and will continue to operate to neutralize threats to Israeli civilians and its own personnel. The military emphasized its commitment to forcefully countering Hezbollah's repeated attempts to harm Israeli forces.

This incident follows a separate encounter on September 7, where an IDF reconnaissance unit from the Golani Brigade engaged a Hezbollah operative in a building near the Beaufort area in southern Lebanon. The operative opened fire on the soldiers, who returned fire and killed him. Two soldiers sustained light injuries during that confrontation.
