Netanyahu Shortens US Trip, Cancels Musk Meeting Ahead of UN Speech
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has shortened his upcoming visit to the United States, canceling a planned meeting with billionaire Elon Musk. The meeting was originally scheduled to take place in Texas, and an advance team had already arrived to prepare for it. However, Netanyahu's office announced the cancellation on Thursday.
Netanyahu's itinerary has also been adjusted to accommodate his speech at the UN General Assembly. Instead of arriving on Wednesday, speaking on Thursday, and returning home, he will now arrive in New York on Thursday morning. His speech is scheduled for 2:00 PM New York time, and he is expected to return to Israel that same evening.
Additionally, the Prime Minister will not be meeting with former President Donald Trump during this trip. The decision to shorten the visit and cancel the Musk meeting appears to be driven by the timing of the UN General Assembly and the need to optimize his schedule.
