Teenager Killed in Hadera Hit-and-Run, Driver Shot; Police Suspect Criminal Motive
A 17-year-old boy was killed early Friday morning after being run over in the Village shopping complex in Hadera. The driver of the vehicle was subsequently shot and lightly injured. Police are investigating the incident as a suspected murder, stating that the motive appears to be criminal and there is no indication of a terrorist attack at this stage.
According to initial police findings, the incident began with a confrontation between parties involved, during which the teenager was struck by the vehicle. Gunfire then erupted at the scene. The victim was initially in critical condition and later pronounced dead. The driver, who sustained light injuries from the shooting, was transported for medical treatment.
The investigation has been transferred to the Central Unit of the Menashe District. Magen David Adom (MDA) received the initial report at 1:40 AM. Paramedics arriving at the scene found the victim unconscious, without pulse or breathing, suffering from a severe head injury. They initiated advanced resuscitation efforts and transported him to the hospital in critical condition, where his death was later confirmed.
Police are continuing to investigate both the vehicle ramming and the shooting as part of a criminal investigation.
