Teenager Killed in Hadera Shopping Center After Altercation Involving Shooting
A 17-year-old boy was killed Friday after being run over by a vehicle during an altercation at the "Village" shopping complex in Hadera. The Shin Bet was initially involved in the investigation but was removed after suspicions of a nationalistic motive were ruled out. The incident began when youths attending a repentance event at the complex became involved in a dispute with the driver of a commercial vehicle who had arrived to unload goods. During the confrontation, the driver got into his vehicle and ran over one of the youths. In response, another youth allegedly opened fire, lightly wounding the driver. The driver, who was subsequently arrested, claimed during questioning that he feared for his life and was trying to escape. The youth suspected of firing the weapon was also apprehended. Police stated that based on the current investigation and suspected motive, the incident is considered criminal and not terror-related.
