Teenager Killed, Driver Injured in Violent Altercation in Hadera

A 17-year-old boy was fatally struck by a vehicle and the driver was lightly injured by gunfire in Hadera overnight between Thursday and Friday. Initial investigations suggest a dispute erupted between the two at the "Village" shopping complex in the city. During the altercation, the teenager was run over, and subsequently, the driver was shot.

Emergency medical services arrived at the scene and transported the critically injured teenager to the hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. Large police forces secured the area, and the investigation is ongoing. Police emphasized that the incident's background is criminal and there is no suspicion of a terrorist attack.

Further details indicate that a group of youths attending a reconciliation event at the shopping complex became involved in a confrontation with the driver of a commercial vehicle who was unloading goods. It appears the driver then entered his vehicle and hit the teenager, after which the youths fired at him. The driver was arrested and claimed he feared for his life and was attempting to flee.

Paramedics described finding the youth lying unconscious in the parking lot of the commercial center with severe head trauma, no pulse, and no breathing. They performed advanced resuscitation efforts and transported him to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, but he could not be saved.
