One Dead, Another Critically Hurt in Late-Night Haifa Crash
A young man was killed and his friend was critically injured in a car crash early Saturday on Hativat Carmeli Street in Haifa. A 16-year-old girl was also hurt lightly. Police said the crash was likely a single-vehicle accident, and traffic investigators from the Carmel District opened an inquiry into the circumstances.
Magen David Adom said the emergency call came in at 4:23 a.m. Paramedics evacuated the injured to Rambam Medical Center in Haifa, where doctors later pronounced one of the victims dead.
MDA paramedic Ron Tuger and senior medic Tomer Ilan said they found “a wrecked car” with two men in their 20s trapped inside, both unconscious. One had no pulse and was not breathing, and both had severe injuries.
They said rescuers provided life-saving treatment at the scene, including prolonged resuscitation efforts, before transporting the critically injured man to the hospital. Another MDA team treated the second victim, who was seriously hurt, and the 16-year-old girl, who was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
