Two Dead in Separate Road Crashes in Haifa and Near Baka-Jatt Within Hours
Two people were killed in serious road accidents in Israel within less than half a day, one in Haifa and another near the Baka-Jatt interchange east of Hadera. The second fatality was a motorcyclist, about 50 years old, who died on Saturday while riding on Route 6 near the interchange after medics attempted resuscitation. MDA paramedic Muhammad Ganaim said the rider was found unconscious, without a pulse or breathing, with multiple traumatic injuries, and that resuscitation efforts ended with his death at the scene.
Earlier in the morning, doctors at Rambam Hospital in Haifa pronounced dead a young car passenger, about 20 years old, who had been badly hurt in a crash in the city. Another man, about 25, was critically injured, and a 16-year-old was listed in mild condition. Police said Carmel District traffic investigators opened an inquiry into the fatal crash, and that it was likely a single-vehicle accident. Officers from Haifa station and traffic investigators began examining the circumstances at the scene.
MDA paramedic Ron Toger and senior medic Tomer Ilan described finding a wrecked car with two men in their 20s trapped inside and unconscious. One of them had no pulse or breathing and serious bodily injuries, and crews carried out prolonged CPR while rescuers freed him. He was evacuated to hospital in critical condition, while the second badly injured man was also taken for treatment. The teenage girl was evacuated with minor injuries.
