Three killed in separate road crashes in northern Israel within hours
Three people were killed overnight, within about seven hours, in three separate traffic accidents in northern Israel, including two motorcyclists and a woman driving a private car. Traffic police investigators have opened inquiries into all of the crashes.
In the deadliest accident, shortly after 1:00 a.m., a motorcycle rider was killed on Route 6 northbound near the Yoqneam Interchange. Magen David Adom medics found a man in his 20s lying by the roadside with severe multiple-system injuries. Senior medic Zohar Ratzabi said, "We saw the motorcycle rider lying by the roadside unconscious, with no pulse and no breathing, with very severe injuries to his body. We carried out medical checks, but unfortunately his injuries were so severe that all we could do was pronounce him dead."
A few hours earlier, shortly before midnight, a 52-year-old woman from Fureidis was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Route 4 at the Ofer Junction. According to the initial investigation, the car struck a traffic light and overturned for reasons that have not yet been determined. Firefighters from Hadera carried out complex rescue operations to free the woman, who was trapped inside the vehicle, and later emergency teams pronounced her dead at the scene.
Fire crews also worked to disconnect the vehicle’s power sources and secure the crash site. Traffic accident investigators from the Menashe district are examining the circumstances of that collision.
