Milvetsky Responds to Leaked Office Video, Cites Support Amid Criticism
Member of Knesset (MK) Chanoch Milvetsky, chairman of the Knesset Finance Committee, has responded publicly after a video he sent to his staff was leaked. In the video, Milvetsky expressed frustration that his staff had not been responsive to him since the recent primary elections. Following the leak, Milvetsky posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), stating that while some rejoiced at his predicament, he also received numerous messages of support.
Milvetsky clarified that the leaked video did not show the full picture. He recounted an instance where a staff member, after seeing the video, voluntarily canceled family plans to support him throughout the day, an action Milvetsky emphasized was not requested but stemmed from her own sense of responsibility and collegiality. He believes the leaker made a serious error in judgment but considers his four staff members to be good people who have worked with him for several years.
Concluding his statement, MK Milvetsky quoted a verse from the Book of Numbers, "And the whole congregation of the children of Israel shall be forgiven, and the stranger that sojourneth among them; for in respect of the whole people, it was by error." This suggests he views the leak as a mistake for which forgiveness is appropriate.
